I updated all different drivers, but nothing I tried would fix this problem of bluetooth controller disconnects, and you will find researching the problem that this is COMMON and not due in any way to user error or something you did wrong on the software side. Something is just wrong with the Xbox controller bluetooth connection on many different types of windows PC's. You can be in the middle of a game and the controller would either go completely unresponsive, or rumble uncontrollably while your game would dip to a few frames a second as you lose complete control of the game without a full power down and restart of the controller.
Disabling vibration would help slightly, making it occur less often, but it still occurs and is unbearable when playing a game where you need to maintain control at all times. I got sick of having to throw out batteries after a few hours of use as only a brand new pair of batteries would result in the least disconnects. Note that I also have a dual shock 4 that I use via bluetooth in certain situations, and have never had an issue with the Sony controller disconnecting from my PC in the same way that the Xbox one does.
After weeks of using this dongle all issues have evaporated. Not a single disconnect, and I can run my batteries down to complete death before the controller becomes unusable. You will also get the ability to use a headset with the controller using this dongle as well, which is a nice bonus. It works, I guess it deserves at least one star for that.

I was worried that maybe it was due to poor build quality since it is a prebuilt PC but nope, I looked up the error code mtus. This on top of the fact that games for Windows is a joke of a software service and Windows 10, although miles better than Vista, struggles to update itself every few weeks.
Does Microsoft understand how to patch, download, install and implement its own software for its own devices? I'm seriously not sure. In case you're wondering, no, all the special Xbox One controller software and drivers you can separately download through Microsoft's webpages don't help your computer recognize a wireless Xbox One controller.

I did not notice this detail until after I received my package, and opened the package to find the adapter sealed in a little ziplock bag.
I left a negative review after I opened the package. So, yes I was wrong in that detail. They also explained that the adapter IS new, and was pulled from an Xbox controller bundle. This does make sense. The adapter does work great so far, but the advertised photos are very deceiving, earning it 4 stars in my opinion.
Thanks for the clarification, Pilko. I've been using this since with no issues. I've had to re-pair with my pc maybe once or twice in that time and was likely due to me changing something on my end.
In case anyone is wondering it works great with windows 11 as well. Great product great price. The bluetooth dongle was the most annoying thing as it stopped working because of a driver error, so i basically had no choice but to get a new controller and adapter. Its cool though, i actually like the new controllers and this usb adapter always works, havent had any problems with it yet.

For whatever reason, connecting my controller directly to my PC via Bluetooth has been less than ideal in the past. Disconnects didn't happen super often, but when they did, they were a pain and would often result in me dying in the game or losing progress I already stink at most games I enjoy, so I don't need the added difficulty of controller drops ; I've had this thing for a month now and have had 0 disconnects unless the controllers batteries died but that's on me.

I was sent the older and much larger model of the wireless adapter, and although this may seem like a small thing, I cannot fit the larger one into the spare USB port on the back of my rig without the extension cable due to the rather larger cased USB cables I have currently installed.
